Better Together poster for Alfa-college poster competition

This poster is something I designed for an annual poster competition Alfa-college hosts. A different theme is decided each year, this year's theme was "better together". This text needed to be displayed on the poster, and the content of the poster need to fit the theme.

While brainstorming ideas I was thinking of animals that work together, and a school of fish immediately popped into my head. I went with this idea, as I thought it stood out from the rest.

I created three different concept sketches, all with the same theme but slight variations to the layout and shape of the fish. In the end I chose the third variation as i thought it was most legible, and i liked the bright blue in the middle.

I drew my text and background on a large canvas in Procreate. After this was done, I exported all of my layers into Indesign, where i added the Alfa-college Logo. I also used Photoshop to make some adjustments to the hue and contrast of my poster.

My placement

Out of the two classes that participated (I'm estimating around 50 people) I was among one of the posters to be announced to be in the top 6. Sadly my poster didn't win, but im happy I placed in the top 6 regardless!
